A small but striking castle surrounded by trees and countryside

Lichtenstein-A Mighty Little Castle

It is a beautiful fall day here in Bavaria with colorful leaves everywhere! We decided to take Rudi to see a lovely but little known small castle named Lichtenstein. Perched high up on a steep cliff in the Swabian Alps, it is definitely a dramatic site to see!

Lichtenstein Castle was built in 1840 and is known as the "Fairy Tale Castle of Württemberg," and remains a private residence of the Dukes of Urach. Today, the castle is open to visitors and features a fancy collection of historic weapons.

Rudi was quite impressed. He declared it to be a very fine castle indeed.
